We believe that we have one of the best coaching staffs around! Our coaches are experts in their own fields and have great passion for student/athlete development.
Randy Huff - Head Coach
Randy began his coaching career in 1989 and started coaching at Ponderosa in 2001. Randy's coaching philosophy focuses on celebrating individual successes at all levels starting from our JV athletes all the way through state champions. "Hard work always pays off" is a motto commonly used by Coach Huff. Coach Huff spends a lot of his time developing the throwers but coaches and encourages all athletes. Coach Huff will primarily work with our pole vault athletes this year.

Michael Warburton - Head Coach
Michael, an alum of Ponderosa High School, began coaching at PHS in 2015 after finishing his collegiate running career at Metro State University. Michael was an NCAA qualifying athlete in middle distance. He started as an assistant coach and has been a head coach for the past 6 years. Michael focuses on developing all athletes and teaching the mental aspect of the sport to help athletes push themselves to new levels. Michael's expertise focuses on distance and middle-distance athletes.

Keith Billingsley - Assistant Coach - Sprints
Keith has coached collegiate athletes in Division 1, Division 2, and high school athletes all across the country. He is at Ponderosa for his second year and we are very excited to use his talents, experience, and expertise in sprinting.
John Fulton - Assistant Coach - Sprints & Hurdles
John is an alum of Ponderosa High School from 2018. He holds the Ponderosa record in the 300 Hurdles and the 4X100 Relay. Upon graduation, John attended Colorado State University, running the 100, 200, and 4X400. He holds the CSU record for both indoor and outdoor 4X400 relays. John returns to Ponderosa for his first year coaching after working at Rangeview High School as an assistant track coach for two years. Coach Fulton will be working with our sprinting and hurdle athletes this year.
Brian Hoffman - Assistant Coach - Throws
Brian Hoffman graduated from Denver Christian High School in 1993 where he played football and threw the shot put and discus for track. He was a two-time state qualifier and earned 2nd place in discus and 5th in shot his senior year oof high school. At Northwestern College in Iowa, he threw both indoor shot put and outdoor shot put and discus. While this is his first year coaching at Ponderosa, Brian has been coaching the shot put and discus for over 10 years with many state qualifiers as well as State Champions. Coach Hoffman is excited to train our discus and shot put athletes this year.
Caleb Pack - Assistant Coach - Distance
Caleb, also the head cross-country coach for Ponderosa, has been working with our distance athletes for two years. Caleb comes from a distance running background, competing at the collegiate level for Taylor University in Indiana. Caleb has created a well-rounded distance program over the last two years and focuses on training the whole athlete by incorporating strength training and yoga into his program.
Bret Tueller - Assistant Coach - Jumps
Coach Tueller is excited t be back with the track program this year. Coach Tueller loves working with athletes and helping them enjoy the process of improving. He will be working with our high jump athletes.
Amanda Villari - Assistant Coach - Junior Varsity
Amanda has been with our track program for four years now. Also the women's head coach of cross country, Amanda does a great job supporting and developing our distance athletes by utilizing her experience as a collegiate runner for SUNY Oneonta. She is a natural encourager and helps athletes work through the grind that is required for distance running. Amanda also spends a lot of time with our JV team and does a lot of the behind-the-scenes work for our team.
Jaren Whitehead - Assistant Coach - Sprints and Jumps
An alum of Ponderosa, Jaren competed in football and track and field during high school. He graduated in 2018 and is a member of the PHS 4x100 meter relay record team. He continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and received a degree in Exercise Science. Jaren will be an asset to the coaching staff by providing valuable insight to the overall program. Jaren will train our sprinting group and the long jump and triple jump.
