Track and Field 2024 Updated 3/27
Welcome to the 2024 Track and Field season!
After last year's very successful season, we have a lot to look forward to this upcoming year!
SEASON START:
The season officially starts on Monday, February 26th. REGISTRATION closes soon. Please make sure to get registered, paid, and have your physical submitted before the 26th of February. Our first practice will be on February 26th @3:30 at the track.
Our parent meeting will be held on Thursday, February 29 @ 5:30 in the commons. We hope that all families can attend to hear critical information about the season. Here is the Parent Meeting Flyer.
COMMUNICATION:
The majority of our team communication for updates, meet info, and anything else important will be communicated through the Remind app. You can either download the app or use your text messaging platform.
To join this through the app, simply click the drop down on the upper left, select "join class" and type in "phstrk24" (if you are an athlete) or "phstrkp24" (if you are a parent) and select join.
If you wish to use your text messaging app, send a message to the number 81010 with the letters "@phstrk24" or "@phstrkp24". Please make sure to have a parent and the athlete on here. Workouts and weekly updates will be sent through this application.
The weekly updates will be communicated through the Track Remind Document. Please refer to this updated document as much as you need.
If athletes will be absent from practice or a meet, please fill out the form AND speak to coaches prior to the absence.
FEES:
The fee for track is $300. $200 will be collected at registration and the additional $100 will be collected at the parent meeting on Thursday, February 29 @ 5:30. Student fees help cover coaching costs, new uniforms this year, race entries, and other program improvements. Parents can pay the $100 fee track via MSB. More of this will be shared at the parent's meeting.
GEAR:
Athletes must have warmups, athletic clothing, trainers, and water bottles at each practice. Athletes are required to wear the provided track uniform top and purchase their own black bottoms (no logos) or wear the school-issued shorts. There are a few different ways to purchase clothes throughout the season. Athletes can purchase discounted trainers, spikes, and other items at our RNK SPIKE NIGHT on Thursday, March 7. We also have a special track and field ONLINE STORE. More information will be available at the parent meeting on Thursday, February 29 @ 5:30 in the cafeteria/commons.
Thank you to this year's donors!
